Forest industry has been, and will continue to be, a major influence on the lives of UP humans and other species. No view of the UP can be realistic without including forestry. Here, I will attempt to summarize the main lessons I learned working as a forester of one type or another in the UP for over 20 years. All the photographs in this gallery were taken in Michigan's Upper Peninsula (the UP).
