With its cold climate, the Upper Peninsula does not have a great diversity of cold-blooded vertebrates. Within this group, fish are undoubtedly the most important economically and ecologically. Nevertheless, the UP does have an interesting array of frogs, toads, salamanders, snakes, lizards, and turtles.
All the photographs in this Gallery were taken in Michigan's Upper Peninsula (the UP).
