With the exception of forestry (see the Forestry gallery), the UP has not been an important agricultural region. Although agriculture usually destroys native habitats, it can also create valuable habitats that are being lost elsewhere. With new options provided by advancing technologies and new problems resulting from the climate crisis, greater attention to UP agriculture is needed.
